Richness

How can I express to you

the richness of our life?

When

Nature

has not left

a single stone unturned

a single blade of grass

ungrown or a whisper

through the pines

unblown?

Diving into this unknown

that is our life, I find

          my self deeply known.

From the beginning, there

has never been a

single stone to throw, or

horn to blow — and so

how is it we make

so much

trouble for

ourselves?

I’m rich, she said, the

Mother Earth who

never grasped or

held on to

any thing at all!

I’m rich, I say to you —

so rich, to live here

of this earth and sky

so rich,

     so rich,

        that I know

                    you.
