Vow

 

This light in my heart is

beyond all weight of mind.

 

This robe of freedom is vast!

It holds the parts (of me) 

I don’t understand.

 

Drawn forth by vow, how could 

this — I — 

go wrong?

 

Be careful what you wish for, but I say — 

be careful what you 

 

vow. Like vacuum, vow  

draws in what you reject

as vow itself. It works

like that because it pumps

out what you thought 

you need —

but don’t.

 

As a pump removes impurities from without,

 

It works on you until 

you learn to work from inside

it as empty

 

space.

 

Amazing, 

truly! 

 

the function of 

vow is to

draw

in

 

to accomodate

 

to illuminate the essence of 

the small and great

 

on chip, of star, or in one being’s 

heart — 

 

vow reveals —

 

all dharmas are in essence, space.

 

This is what

makes vow

great.
